Redesign of the website for the popular American restaurant chain Miller’s Ale House. The main focus was updating the menu structure and the food catalog to make navigation easier and the selection process faster. We refreshed the visual style in line with the company’s new brand guidelines, improved usability, and enhanced mobile responsiveness. The result is a clear, user-friendly interface that reflects the restaurant’s brand and identity while providing a better online ordering experience.
Here’s what the previous website of Miller’s Ale House looked like. It appeared outdated, visually quite generic, and was inconvenient to use, especially in the menu section. The site didn’t capture the lively spirit of the chain — the authentic atmosphere of an Irish pub with delicious steaks and burgers. This is exactly where we started our work.

Before improving anything, it’s essential to understand how and why to do it. So we started by researching the competition — analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of how other restaurant websites present their menus. This led us to a clear conclusion: the best solution for a restaurant like this is an open, browsable catalog of all dishes, with category-based sorting and anchor links for easy navigation. You can read more about this in the presentation below.
We also made sure to study best practices from leading global food delivery platforms to better understand familiar UX patterns and user expectations. By analyzing how users typically navigate large menus in popular apps, we identified interaction models that feel intuitive and reduce friction. This research led us to implement anchor-based navigation tabs at the top of the mobile interface — a proven solution that helps users effortlessly browse through menu categories without getting lost or overwhelmed.
And of course, no project comes to life without countless sketches and explorations. While working on MAH, we went through an extensive ideation phase — exploring various ways to present the menu, structure the dish categories, design the homepage, and more. This process of constant iteration allowed us to test ideas, refine our decisions, and ultimately arrive at solutions that felt both functional and true to the brand.
